AUDIO/VIDEO: The sound quality in this dvd was pretty impressive. I didn't have to turn the volume much at all to be able to hear it properly. The soundtrack to the film seemed to be as heavily edited as the scenes themselves. In that sense it had a synthesized/digital sound quality to it. The classical music that constantly played in the background was kept at a steady volume that didn't really overshadow the dream-like ambiance that the rest of the film's audio had. The scenes within the dvd seemed to be displayed in a widescreen ration, but I was unable to confirm this due to the way my dvd player operates. Overall bot the sound, and visual quality of this film were superb.

 SYNOPSIS:

During my time with Xcritic I got the chance to review a dvd from "Daring! Media Group". The title of that film was "Past Times". I won't go into what that dvd was about, but I mention it because in a way it's quite similar to that of "MILF Mayhem". Like "Past Times". "MILF Mayhem" was presented in an artistic manner that used both classical music, and erotic visuals which were combined in a heavily edited way. This film seemed to focus more on the more mature ladies of the adult film industry, and in doing so it had a more mature tone to it. Scene by scene a montage of clips were shown displaying each of the female performers' bodies, and various emotions which they all portrayed using a silent yet understandable form of expression. While sex was shown in random, and haphazard ways it didn't really seem to be the focus of the film. It was as if Kendo (The Director) was trying to tell a story that was orchestrated through music, and erotic interactions.

To be honest I never really grasped what the story was all about though. The film played as if it were a silent movie from days gone by, and as such it was not something that was easily understandable. Only the director really knows what he was trying to express to his viewers. With that being said interpretation of the film is ultimately left to the eye of the beholder. I think everyone who watches this film will likely get something different out of the experience. When it comes to being classified as porn I don't really see this film as such. To me it was more of an artistic masterpiece with sex used as the subject matter. Kendo masterfully orchestrated this film as if it were a symphony. The ladies of the film were his sheet music, and his artistic vision was the instrument that set the symphonic presentation into motion.

CONCLUSION

This dvd will not likely suit every porn lovers palette. I began watching the film with an open mind as I do with all the dvds I review. In that way I was able to enjoy it for what it was. My tastes in anything regarding entertainment are diverse, so I greatly enjoyed the artistic nature of this production. The classical music really set the mood for the sexual displays that were shown. If you're into classical music, and erotic adult entertainment then you'll probably enjoy this film as I did. With that being said this isn't the kind of porn you can really get off with. The sex that is shown is so brief that there's not much time for pleasuring yourself to the scenes. If you have a partner who doesn't mind viewing porn with you then this would definitely make a great couple's film. In the end I think this dvd is definitely worth buying, but I can see people having different perspectives when it comes down to whether this is true porn or not.
