AUDIO/VIDEO: JW Ties, and Desperate Pleasures upped the ante with this particular dvd presentation, if ever so slightly. For the most part the content warning, and scene delivery were more professionally edited than before. There were no repetitive content warnings showing up onscreen in between scenes, and JW Ties actually included an official logo for his brand name this time around. Each scene was neatly cut, and presented in a quality that is not kin to the studio's more "Studio-like" quality. Camera angles were also captured in a more professional manner with a slight hint of amateurish photography on the cameraman's behalf. Once again the studio also tried some artistic touches with various screen sizes, and color swaps that added a sort of memory reflection appearance to one of the main character's flashbacks. The title menu also looked more professional, and less like something you'd find included with store shelved movie editing software.

SYNOPSIS

Going into this more recent release I was honestly a bit skeptical about it. In the past the Desperate Pleasures dvds that I reviewed looked as if they were haphazardly slapped together, and fell severely short of being professional in delivery. They appeared to be more of a college project taken on by a small group of individuals who only had an inkling of an idea as to how porn was supposed to play out. I'll give JW, and his crew slight credit though in that their approach to the fake taboo scenarios were unique, and interesting, in their own way. At the same time, however I also found some of their plot material to be redundant, and rather repetitive with only the actors, and actresses being the main focal difference in each given scenario. This redundancy led to a rather unimaginative, and overused set of plot twists that seemed like more of the same. One of my biggest concerns outside of the actual sex scene delivery was the way the content warning, and the studio title screens were shown before, and between the actual scenes. It was like the director wanted to drive home the point that the taboo situations were fake, and that they were abiding by the law in regards to their film. This was a turn off in a huge in-your-face sort of way, and only served to hurt the intended appeal of the film/s. Packaged with the mundane repeats of "Dear diary" entries read aloud by participating female performers the films, and their scenarios did little to impress me ...

How does "Family Lies Volume 2" stand up to the previous taboo installments offered up by Desperate Pleasures? Well, I'm somewhat glad to say it was not a total bust. After starting up the dvd in my standard dvd player, and playing it out in it's entirety on an old tube television for nostalgia sake I noticed immediately that JW had finally edited his intro in a proper fashion. There was one screen that displayed all the legal content warnings, and even a nicely done "JW Ties" logo screen with a broken knotted rope. The title menu screen that follwed was also done quite professionally with a complimentary layout that housed a couple of scene preview images, and the usual scene selection, and film play options. Surprisingly JW also added a couple of bonus scenes to extend upon the film's already decent length.

As far as the plot goes you'll find that this time around it does start off in a similar fashion as some of the previous Desperate Pleasures films do, and that it continues in a rather cliche manner without the use of the old "Dear diary" ploy. This immediately heated beginning includes a father, and step-daughter encounter in which JW plays the role of the step-father, and newcomer Camile Black plays the role of the Alt decorated step-daughter whom has a craving for daddy cock. Camile, for some reason, or another has the hots for her dad, and wants to get in his pants so bad that she uses her begging wiles to take advantage of the situation. Camile, being the outwardly naughty girl that she is forcefully looses her father's cock from it's cloth covered prison against his will, and and hops on his hooded pole for a ride in both of the cowgirl positions. Obviously not being able to resist the raven haired hottie father JW takes control towards the end of the encounter to pound at Camile's exposed pussy as she sits spread eagle on the family couch. As usual he comes inside of her without thinking twice about it, and awkwardly scolds his step-daughter for something he could have easily prevented. WTF!?

Switching focus from Camile to the other female step-sibling the camera trails the blonde, and younger looking 'Kate England'. Kate just so happens to be the horniest girl in this awkward family setup, and gets it on multiple times with her step-brother as her step-sister Camile spies on their sexually driven activities. Without really leaving the building in which every scene takes place Kate, her step-brother, and her step-sister engage in unfinished sexual intercourse at a mock school, and in various places within the family's homestead. Kate even ups the ante by fucking her grandfather who scolds her about her promiscuous behavior at school. Like his son, the grandfather bones his step-daughter until he comes inside her, and scolds her in a similar fashion just before parting ways. Once again it's a mistake that could have easily been avoided since Kate was in the bent over doggy position, but JW, and the guys at Desperate pleasures really seem to dig the thought of impregnation.

The thick of the film hovers closely around Kate's activities for most of the film's duration, and only reaches it's climax after a couple of badly edited in clips of Camile masturbating to the sight of the sexual encounters before her. When Kate, and her hefty step-brother finally get it on in the family room area of the housing complex Camile sneaks a lengthy peek at the two, and enjoys some on site masturbation of her own before taking her naughty memories of the step-sibling's intimate encounters with her to other more lonely parts of the house. It's during these spastic memory shots, and locale changes that we gather the obvious hint that Camile wants in on the brotherly, and sisterly action. Not long after pleasuring herself Camile confronts Kate for some alone time together, and gets freaky with her step-sister only to be interrupted by the step-brother. This blunt interruption leads to a threesome with some girl swapping, and the eventual entrance of JW (the father) into the picture. Taking a hint from another previous scene's direction the stepfather, and step-son of the film sandwich the two younger ladies as they couple each other in a '69' orientation. There's some pussy pounding in the doggy position in two different points of view as the awkward couples pair off. At the end of it all both men in the scene come inside the girls they had paired off with ending the main part of the film's presentation.

Not ending where intended the film continues on uninterrupted with the two bonus scenes playing out in full regardless of their separation on the main menu screen. This presentation blunder, was not really a surprise to me though, but would have definitely gone unnoticed if I had not went back to check out the bonus scenes via the title screen menu. Bonus scenes one, and two, as they were include the same performers that are shown in the main film, but extend upon their relationship driven encounters. Kate gets a one-on-one sexual encounter with daddy JW while Kate, and Camile delve into some fetish material that is borderline bondage mixed with tickling. Both scenes, while unique to the film lack substance, and definitely feel like scenes you'd find added on to the main film's presentation. Unfortunately the are not kept separate from the main playthrough, and will more than likely confuse a viewer.

BONUS SCENES (2): As previously mentioned these are two bonus scenes that "Tie-in" character relationships that were portrayed by performers within the film. Kate England is the main focus, and branches off in both scenes to fuck, and tease both JW, and Camile Black. Some bondage tickling fetish material is included in the Kate, and Camile scene.

CONCLUSION:

JW Ties, and the team at Desperate Pleasures do seem to be headed in the right direction production-wise. They definitely seem to have heeded my advice, and taken it to heart. For that they deserve some praise, I think. As for as positives go I liked the more professionally edited intro (content warning & logo), and the fact that there was no "Dear diary" nonsense to be found, or at least nothing that was so obviously intrusive to the sex that followed. As far as the cast goes Kate England, and Camile Black did look sexy in a more realistic way, and played their character roles well. Sadly, the story progress, and editing still lacked in professionalism hurting the girls' performances in the final delivery. The masturbation sequences featuring Camile seemed like pieces of a puzzle that did not fit. The artistic editing did nothing to tie the masturbatory fantasy into the rest of the taboo tale. I particularly did not like the screen downsizing, or the briefly shown whited out scene pieces that were used as memory reflections for Camile's character. It was a good attempt at an artistic approach, but fell short of keeping things professionally edited.

Oddly enough I did not find this latest taboo tale to be as noteworthy as some of the previous JW ties films I've reviewed. I wouldn't say it's the editing I liked in the earlier films that impressed me, but more so the sexual encounters that were included back then. Here you have better editing to a certain degree, but the scenes themselves seem more like a cliche compilation than something actually related, in a newly organized manner. The sex scenarios really didn't show anything that has not been done in some form or fashion by this particular porn studio. Considering everything it's definitely a tough call to rate, or recommend this film. It's not terribly bad, but it does have some significant faults. I suppose if you are curious, and don't mind renting this film for a few bucks then this film's presentation is might appeal to you more. As far as a purchase goes I'm going to have to say it's a pass. This film is only "Rental" worthy in my personal opinion.
